TALENTED greyhound Club Foot will attempt to reverse the placings on his most recent outing when he tackles the Easter Cup final over 461 metres at Tattersall’s Park in Hobart tonight.

Club Foot was out-muscled by Hellyeah Missile last week in their heat courtesy of a saloon passage run gained by Hellyeah Missile nearing the home turn.

Tonight Club Foot will start from box seven while Hellyeah Missile will wear the coveted red vest and if he makes the most of the inside draw (1) then he will again be the one to beat.

However he has been a bit hit and miss from the boxes and a slow start could spell disaster for the Anthony Bullock-trained dog.

Club Foot looks ideally suited out wide but it could all be irrelevant if the in-form MysticFalls flies the lids from box four and leads.

MysticFalls has won four of his six starts on the Hobart track and has never raced better.

Early on he wasn’t the best away from the boxes but since he lifted his game in that department he has gone from strength to strength.

The Easter Plate final for grades 4-5 sprinters has been evened up by the box draw.

Groovy Lane was clearly the fastest heat winner clocking a personal best of 25.75 for what was the dog’s first start from a six week break.

The dog changed kennels and took time to settle in at Paul Donaldson’s training complex at Warrane but he showed no signs of being leg weary at the end of his first-up assignment.

However he will need to step as well as he did last week from box four if he is to extend his unbeaten record of five wins on the Hobart circuit.

The Butch Deverell-trained Kalaway Ernie won his heat in decent time (25.96) from box two but he has to contend with a wide draw (7) tonight.

The scratching of Flying Pete has opened the door for reserve Underclass Hero to sneak into the final and should he ping the lids from box five he could make his presence felt at the business end of proceedings.

Bit Hot Finchy clocked a slick 25.81 in winning his heat from box eight and as he usually has good box manners box six might not be a problem for the Graeme Taylor-trained dog.

Other heat winners Blue McCool (2) and Homeward (8) also are winning chances if luck goes their way.

The Easter Purse for juvenile and maiden performers could be a match race between kennel mates and litter siblings Breaker’s Tip and Bruny Venture.

Breaker’s Tip (Mogambo-Dennes Point) impressed in wining his heat from box five and clocked a handy 26.22 on debut so box four shouldn’t be a problem if he begins as well tonight while his litter brother led and was run down in the last few strides.

Limbo Maid defeated Bruny venture starting from box seven and she has draw the outside tonight and providing she stays wide to the top turn the Brendan Pursell-trained bitch will make her presence felt at the business end of proceedings.
