Fresh off wins in Launceston and Devonport last week, Birralee trainer Lynden Nichols, plays a strong hand at Monday night’s greyhound meeting in Launceston.
Nichols prepares four runners across the 10-race card, and three of his runners opened single figures in early markets.
Has The Power, a Launceston winner seven days ago, was to line up in the Greyhound Data Mixed 2nd and 3rd grade event over the 278-metre trip but was scratched on race morning.
Nichols will have two representatives from his kennel in race eight, the Simon’s Carpet One Fifth Grade, with Charlie Sparkles from box two and Levi in box four.
Charlie Sparkles has won one race from 19 starts, breaking the maiden in Hobart four starts ago, but has been placed in all three starts over the 515-metre distance.
The Black Magic Opal – Flying Sparkles bitch has had the seven starts in Launceston for three placings, including a third placing behind Savvy Sticker last Monday where she ran 30.24s.
She finished fifth in Hobart on Thursday where she was well defeated by Declassified from a wide box.
Levi was a Devonport winner four starts ago in 25.61s for the 452 metres when leading all the way from box three and has finished in fourth spot in the subsequent outings.
Decisions lines up in the sixth race of the night, the Kennel Podcast with Matt & Brennan Grade 4, also over the short 278-metre distance.
The Kinloch Brae – Irisize bitch has recorded four wins from 85 starts, with every victory coming over the 278-metre distance, the most recent three starts ago from box two when scoring by a narrow margin in 16.54s.
Decisions was narrowly defeated last week when sent out a $13 quote when grabbed in the shadows of the post by Leishman in 16.70s
Lyncar Blue Boy is the last runner for the Nichols kennel, in the Crown Lager – Australia’s Best Grade 5, and is rated a $41 chance in the final race of the night.

A reminder to punters that race times have been amended for the Devonport meeting on Tuesday with the first race to now commence at 11:37 am.
