TALENTED Tasmanian harness trainer Steve Lukac made a decision last season to send his promising two-year-old No Spring Secrets to the paddock for a lengthy spell owing to the horse’s immaturity.
The gelded son of Tell Us All won on debut but after three subsequent unplaced runs he was dispatched to the paddock in May last year and made his way back into work in October.
With three-months work in him the gelding stepped out at Tattersall’s Park in Hobart last night and gave his rivals a pacing lesson in the Crown In n Pace over 2090 metres With in-form driver Nathan Ford in the sulky No Spring Secrets began well from the front row to find the lead and he was never headed on his way to an impressive win, scoring by 27 metres from Note Worthy Lombo with Blackjackhanover six metres astern.
While the gelding won easily, Lukac was not altogether happy with how his charge delivered the win.
