No vision impacts on turnover

A MAJOR fault with Sky Channel’s digital network created havoc across the nation yesterday with only one thoroughbred meeting being broadcast on the racing network for about seven hours.

From about 12.45pm until 8pm the only vision available was the thoroughbred meeting from Wodonga as it was being beamed out on a different bearer to the rest of the nation.

A Sky spokesperson said it was a Telstra issue and out of Sky’s control.

Vision was restored last night but that gave only the most ardent and supremely optimistic punters an opportunity to see what they were wagering on for the last hour of scheduled events on Sky 1.

The communication breakdown had a major impact on turnover on the Tasmanian thoroughbred meeting in Launceston and the Hobart harness meeting.
