HARNESS racing trainer Justin Campbell had no qualms about lauding the virtues of his consistent mare Noelsgirl after she scored an effortless win in a C2 over 2090 metres at Tattersall’s Park in Hobart on Sunday night.
Noelsgirl gave her rivals a pacing lesson as she strolled to an almost 10-metre win over Hilda Sue with Peace Corps over two metres away third.
The five-year-old mare has missed a cheque only twice in her past dozen starts andCampbellwas quick to attest to the mare’s character and tenacity.
“I’d like to have a dozen just like her in the stable,”Campbellsaid.
Noelsgirl had 18 starts last season for four wins and as many minor placings but she finished fourth at five of those outings.
This season she has face d the starter nine times for a win and four minor placings and has finished no further back that fifth.
