A fuse circuit break failure in the light tower at the 1400-metre-mark on the thoroughbred track at The TOTE Racing Centre on Wednesday night (18 January) caused the postponement of the final two races of the meeting.
The fuse circuit failure then “tripped” the tower at 1350-metre mark.
The issue will be rectified as soon as possible – well in advance of the next scheduled night thoroughbred meeting at The TOTE Racing Centre on Wednesday 1 February.
Tasracing is working to reschedule the postponed two races and will make an announcement to industry as soon as this work is completed.
The overarching lighting equipment at the venue has been checked by thermal imaging as part of routine annual maintenance procedures.
All race day protocols (for example, testing of the lights) were followed prior to the meeting commencing.
