PROMINENT thoroughbred syndicator Joe O’Neill has been a great supporter of Tasmanian racing over the years and it would appear he could be a major player during the upcoming 2015 Betfair Tasmanian Summer Racing Carnival.

In Hobart last Friday his talented three-year-old filly Rumeron notched her second win in succession and her third win of the season from five starts.

The Charlie Goggin and Luella Meaburn-trained filly powered home late to score impressively from and Don’t Be Nasty and Milson that flashed home late after being held up at a crucial stage.

It was her second win in succession against older horses and O’Neill is keen to see what she can do against her own sex in the Thousand Guineas under lights in Launceston on January 21.

Apprentice Ismail Toker partnered Rumeron to her last victory and upon dismounting he said she gave him the feel of a horse that is already looking for more ground.

O’Neill has another smart three-year-old filly in Bella Venus that has won at her only three starts this preparation and she too could go the Thousand Guineas.

Listen to what owner Joe O’Neill had to say about his horses that will contest various races during the 2015 Betfair Tasmanian Summer Racing Carnival starting on January 11 and concludes on Launceston Cup day on February 25.
