THE LGRC was unable to secure enough acceptors to run state heats of the AGRA National Distance Championship.
But to accommodate some of the dogs that entered the series the club framedĀ a free-for-all over 720 metres in which Painted Dotty emerged triumphant.
The Mick Stringer-trained bitch jumped straight to the front and gave nothing else a chance as she powered her way to an emphatic win over Pedro’s Vineyard and Cosmic Fire.
Painted Dotty was having her first start back in the state following a very successful campaign in Sydney.
She was placed third at Wentworth Park over 720m before stringing together three wins of which two were at Wentworth Park (720m) and the other at Richmond over 717m.
Painted Dotty will line up in next Monday night’s state distance final and she is likely to start favourite.
