TALENTED trainer Michael Pearce hasn’t spent a lot of time in the winner’s circle in recent times but that has changed in a big way courtesy of a litter of pups that recently landed in his kennels.

Bulla Country (El Galo-Country Dawn) is the latest from the litter to shine and he did it in style in Hobart last Thursday night.

Bulla Country pinged the lids from box five and showed his rivals a clean pair of paws to score a game win in a grade three event over 461 metres.

Despite feeling the pinch at the business end he had enough in reserve to hold out the favourite Next Matador to score by a head with Warehouse Mouse a close-up third.

It was Bulla Country’s sixth win from 12 starts in Tasmania but his eighth career victory from 25 outings.

Pearce and his father Johnny secured five from the litter of seven that was bred in New South Wales by Kevin Campbell at Bellata.

All but one of the litter racing in Tasmania have won.

Dawn’s Best has won five of her 11 tries for Pearce with three of those wins coming in succession at her most recent outings.

Deb’s Honour has one win to her credit and that came the previous week in Hobart and it ended up a family trifecta with Michael preparing third-placed Fast Country while Simply Dawn ran second for Michael’s father John.

Fast Country is yet to win but she had success twice in NSW before finding his way to Tasmania.

Simply Dawn has won for John but she also has notched five minor placings from only six starts so she is bound to pick up a few more wins.
