WELL bred mare Pinks A Legend (Tough Speed-Loch Carron) is well on the way to emulating the feats of her talented half-brother Tuktoyaktuk.

Pinks A Legend  scored an impressive maiden win in Launceston early this month and last Sunday at the same venue she made it two wins in succession with a similar performance in a strong class one handicap over 1420 metres.

It takes a handy galloper to win a maiden and then step out and win a class one at the next start because history tells us that, nationwide, only 2.8% achieve the feat.

The Dianne Ray-Luttrell-trained mare had her share of issues early in her career and according to the trainer she still has some maturing to do but winning form is the best indicator that a horses is coming to terms with being a racehorse.

Pinks A Legend showed her rivals a clean set of plates last Sunday, leading throughout to score from Gee Gee Miss Bee and Kentucky Tea.

The mare was well ridden by in-form jockey Kim Moore who has never ridden better.
