TALENTED bitch Posh Di overcame major difficulties to score a brilliant win in the Big Dog Racing Supplements final over 600 metres at The TOTE Racing Centre in Launceston on Monday night.
Posh Di began well from box six but copped a serious check on the first turn and again in the home straight the first time.
But the quality bitch from the Anthony Bullock kennel shrugged off the interference and knuckled down to the task of setting out after the leader Trew Chase with the well backed National Vision also hot in pursuit.
Trew Chase held a two length margin nearing the home turn but when Posh Di moved alongside she found another gear and burst clear to win clearly from National Vision with Trew Chase hanging on for third in advance of Montagu Jan.
It was Posh Di’s third win from her past four starts.
She won her heat by 13 lengths which justified her staring price of $1.70 that many punters regarded as luxury odds.
Posh Di has excelled at the 600 metre distance. Her record in Launceston is outstanding having won seven and been placed second four times from 16 starts.
Her three starts over 600 metres I Launceston have produced two wins and a luckless second.
She has been racing successfully in Victoria of late where from 10 starts she has notched a win and two seconds at The Meadows and a win and placing at Sandown.
