STAR Tasmania race mare Rebel Bride could be heading interstate to contest a fillies and mares’ race at Flemington on Oaks Day (November 6)

Co-trainer Dean Wells revealed the possible plan after Rebel Bride scored an emphatic trial win on her home track at Devonport today (Tuesday).

Rebel Bride has not started since winning the Group 3 weight-for-age Vamos Stakes in Launceston in February so she presented at the trial looking in need of the hit-out despite having already been to the Longford trials where she was second to Sh’Bourne Spirit over 700 metres on a shifting surface.

But with he blinkers back on and with stable apprentice Chantal Willis in the saddle Tasmania’s queen of the turf powered to the line to score by 2-1/2 lengths untouched from Sh’bourne Spirit (Brendon McCoull) with Crystal Reef 2-3/4 of a length away third.

Listen to what trainer Dean Wells had to say about Revel Bride’s trial and possible race plans.
