For just the second time ever thoroughbred racing will take place in Tasmania on Good Friday where Launceston again has the honour of hosting the card.
The twilight program has been well supported with nine races for punters to sink their teeth into including some very competitive maidens to start the day. Group 1 winning jockey Craig Newitt returns for the Easter card and has a good book of rides for several different trainers.
After rain created plenty of uncertainty for the previous meeting on 24 March, the forecast for Friday is excellent and it would be a surprise if racing was on anything other than a good 4 surface. The rail is in the +7m position, last used on 10 February where it seemed an advantage to be up on the speed.
