PUNTERS have hooked into hot-pot favourite Admiral to take out Monday’s weight-for-age Thomas Lyons Stakes over 1400 metres.
UBET went up with a fixed price market for the race on Thursday and was immediately hit with a plunge.
The Barry Campbell-trained star, a winner of 12 of his 17 starts, opened at $1.50, but was swiftly trimmed to $1.30.
“The $1.50 about him lasted all of 30-minutes and most of the money was from sharp punters in the know,” said UBET Head of Product Gerard Daffy.
“He’s the pin-up boy of the Apple Isle right now and the smarties think this one’s a forgone conclusion.”
