HOBBY harness racing trainer Wayne Rainbird doesn’t spend a lot of time in the winner’s circle so when his consistent gelding Hes No Saint led all the way to win a C0 inHobarton Sunday night there was plenty of celebration.
With gun young reinsman Todd Rattray in the sulky, Hes No Saint made full use of the pole position to lead and despite being challenged strongly in the home straight he had enough in reserve to hold out the opposition.
Hes No Saint ($2.80 equal fav) hit the line with about a metre top spare over the other equal favourite Calamity Katie with Romantic Moment ($7.30) a distant third.
Rainbird has had Hes No Saint in his stable for about a year and this is the gelding’s first win for his new owners and trainer.
The gelding is owned by Neil Morice in partnership with Rainbird.
