TODD Rattray is no stranger to winning a Bullock Consulting Youngbloods Challenge having been successful in the series two years ago.

After the first two heats of this year’s series at Devonport on Wednesday night Rattray is eyeing off his second Youngbloods trophy.

Rattray won both heats to take a convincing lead into this Sunday night’s round of heats at Tattersall’s Park in Hobart.

The Youngbloods is a six heat series comprising a selection of the best ten young drivers under 23 years of age at the start of the harness racing season.

Rattray partnered Heartthrob to victory in the opening heat on the Devonport Showground that comprised only four runners and he followed up with a masterful drive aboard No Logic to win heat two.

He will partner outsider Carrigdhoun in the third heat in Hobart on Sunday night (race 3) and in heat four (race 9) he will guide Under Theboardwalk.

The Youngbloods Challenge is decided on a point-score basis with the winner in each heat accredited 12 points while second secures nine points and points diminish by one point through to last place |(10th).

In the case of there not being enough horses entered for a heat, those drivers who miss out on a drive each receive six points.

\such was the case in the opening heat at Devonport on Wednesday night when only four horses contested the race which means six drivers were each awarded six points.

Points score after two rounds.
