CHANGES to licensing requirements for thoroughbred and harness industry participants are to be introduced from 1 August 2011.
The changes require participants to be suitably skilled / qualified to a national training standard.
Existing trainers and senior staff may already have the necessary experience to achieve accreditation through a national Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process.
Significant government subsidies to help cover the cost of training are available through Tasracing
RPL sessions begin in Tasmania next week.
The programs are designed to ensure all racing industry personnel are qualified to a national standard.
