ASTUTE harness racing trainer Juanita McKenzie expects her recent Hobart Pacing Cup winner remember Joe to win again in the free-for-all (race six) over 2090 metres.
Remember Joe produced a near career-best performance to score an emphatic win in the Hobart Pacing Cup last Sunday night.
That was from a standing start but tonight he lines up in a mobile free-for-all that comprises only seven starters but it offers plenty of depth.
“Remember Joe has done really well since his Cup win so if he finds the lead as I expect he will then he will be very hard to beat,” McKenzie said.
“It is a good race despite being a small field and Remember Joe will have to be at the top of his game to win and I also have Our Chain of Command engaged and he will appreciate not giving away a big start as has been the case at his more recent starts in handicap events,” she said.
The McKenzie stable has struck a purple patch of late and it continued at Scottsdale last Friday night where her gelding Major Callum won the North-East Pacing Club Cup.
Major Callum began safely from the standing start and after circumnavigating the field to face the breeze a the halfway mark he went on to score impressively from Black Centurian and Karalta Dazzler.
Tonight’s meeting eight-event program kicks off with a C0 at 6.00pm and ends with a C1 event over 2090m at 9.40pm.
