DEVONPORT track champion Rewind could take his record on the U-bend circuit to 16 wins from 22 starts today but it won’t be easy.

Rewind has drawn the coveted inside alley (box one) but it is not an ideal draw for the Morrie Strickland-trained sprinter.

He usually tracks wide so he could be a risk with the Graeme Moate-trained Shanlyn Poh, who is unbeaten on the Devonport track, likely to give the champ something to chase.

Irinka Julia and Mr Everywhere also are in good form and warrant plenty of respect.

One of the best races on the programme is race eight in which Franklin Bluboy from box one, Shanlyn Peanut, Tiny Tilly and Olwyn are all capable of winning so betting should be wide in the anchor leg of the quadrella.

The Margaret Rossendell trained Sonorous is a big strong greyhound and he looks well suited in box eight in the ninth event. He is a last start Launceston winner in 30.03 but he should have strong opposition from the speedy beginner Queen of Speed that will carry the red vest.
