It was another galloping exhibition by Rewind in the top grade race at The TOTE Racing Centre today when this son of Collide streeted his opposition by 9 3/4 lengths in a best of the day 29.49.

The result never looked in doubt with a first split of 5 seconds, this exciting pup for Bracknell trainer Maurie Strickland is maturing fast and will certainly continue on with his great form in top grade on all tracks.

Newnham trainer Doug Cassidy has been nominating Paper Trail without luck over the last three weeks but finally he had some luck today when as a reserve he sneaked a run from Box 8 in the Boag’s Premium Light Juvenile.

This son of Bombastic Shiraz, owned by prominent breeders Karleen Cuthbertson and Sally Anne Wilson, had been trialling extremely well so Cassidy was excited with a chance to prove it in a race.

Although tardy at the start as is his custom, he wore down the litter sisters Wynburn Diamond and Wynburn Delta to win comfortably by 3 1/2 lengths in the good time of 30.28 rewarding Cassidy for his patience.

Son John Cassidy believes he will improve but wonders how good he could be if he found some early pace.

Tuesday racing returns to Devonport next week after a four week break due to the conductor rail replacement.
