MUCH improved mare Rose of Innocence gets the chance to win a feature race when she tackles the $20,000 Easter Cup (Race 7 at 4.24pm) on the synthetic Tapeta surface at Spreyton tomorrow.
Rose of Innocence is unbeaten from three starts this preparation in the care of new trainer Scott Brunton.
The mare made her way to Brunton’s stables at Seven Mile Beach late last year and immediately rediscovered the ability that she had been hiding for almost a year.
The beach environment and Brunton’s unique training methods have worked wonders for the mare and tomorrow her owners have the chance to be rewarded for the fourth time this season.
Rose of Innocence also is no stranger to the synthetic track having won a race by four lengths on the surface when in the care of Michael Voss.
The mare steps up to the 1880m for the first time this preparation but she has been over 2100m and been reasonably competitive so the extra ground should not be an issue.
Place hopes belong to The Producer, second Dozen, Lingo, Musique Player and last-start winner Queen of Eight.
