LONGFORD trainer Bill Ryan has high hopes of leading in the winner of the Group 3 Vamos Stakes over 1400m at The TOTE Racing Centre in Launceston tonight.
And with two runners in the race he doesn’t care which one wins as long as it is one of his that is called across the line first.
Ryan will saddle up Sh’bourne Spirit and Liluka Belle and while Sh’bourne Spirit is the shorter priced of the duo, the astute trainer won’t discard Liluka Belle as a real winning chance.
Sh’bourne Spirit has the form on the board winning the Lady Lynette before having no luck in the Bow Mistress but I threw Liluka Belle in at the deep end in the Bow Mistress because of an interrupted preparation but she will appreciate the 1400m,” Ryan said.
Another locally trained and owned mare Miss Middleton is one of the favourites at $4.60 behind Lady Lakshmi ($4) and South Australian mare Goodfun Girl ($4.50) while Sh’bourne Spirit is at double figures ($14).
Liluka Belle is quoted at $51 but she has already been back in from her opening quote of $101.
Listen to what Bill Ryan had to say about both horses going into the Vamos Stakes.
