FORMER Victorian Patrick Ryan is stating to make an impact on the training ranks with Slash Is King the latest of his kennel tenants to emerge triumphant .
Slash Is King made it two wins in the space of a week when he powered his way to an impressive win in the top grade race (2/3) on the 10-event card.
The son of Guardam Prince was only fairly away from box seven but as often is the case at the 461-metre boxes in Hobart he was able to muster speed and draw alongside the leaders nearing the top turn and when he crossed to the rails he sped clear and went on to easily defeat That Was Then with early leader Barnes Bay third and well ahead of Hannah Boden.
He was equally as impressive at his previous start in Hobart.
The dog has won three of his six start in Tasmania which is a good result for his owner-breeder Adam Hinds from Queensland who sent the dog to Ryan for races like the Country Derby in which he won a heat but ran last in the final after copping a severe check early in the race.
Slash Is King has great career stats of nine wins and five minor placings from 20 starts.
