LONGFORD trainer Bill Ryan will take a two-pronged attack into today’s Group 3 $150,000 Bow Mistress Trophy and he is hoping to emerge with at least the winner.
Ryan will saddle up Sh’bourne Spirit and Liluka Belle in the most prestigious race on the Australian calendar today.
The field boasts seven interstate invaders and the cream of Tasmania’s sprinters.
Sh’bourne Spirit comes off a brilliant win in a fillies and mares race over 1100m in Hobart two weeks ago while Liluka Belle has had an interrupted preparation but would be up to the task if luck went her way.
It is an open race with most of the interstate runners coming off limited preparations with Awasita, Lady Lakshmi, Nadeem Lass and I Love It the pick of the invaders.
I Love It, prepared by John Salanitri, has been backed in from $8 to $5 and joint favouritism with Lady Lakshmi at $6 and just ahead of local mare Miss Middleton at $6.50.
Listen to what trainer Bill Ryan had to say about his two Bow Mistress contenders.
