WHEN jockey Kelvin Sanderson confirmed all of his rides for last Sunday’s meeting in Launceston he was confident he had a number of winning chances but he had to wait until the last to find the winner’s stall.

Sanderson was placed in the first three races and he guide Gathering Gold into second place in the penultimate race on the program but the Steve Davis-trained Freddie Two Shoes was able to deliver the goods in the Ted Cox Memorial over 1400 metres.

Sanderson had the former Victorian gelding well placed in the one-out line with cover despite drawing the outside barrier in the field of 13.

Freddie Two Shoes won at his first start in the state and followed up with a luckless third in a strong class one over 1200 metres in Launceston at the last night meeting of the season.
