FORMER Victorian pacer Satisfied Grin will be looking to improve on his already impressive record since crossing Bass Strait when he steps out in The Crown In Pace (C3 or better) over 2090 metres at UBET Park Hobart tonight.
Satisfied Grin has won two and been placed second from his past five starts for trainer Ben Yole and tonight’s assignment looks no harder than his previous start when he emerged victorious in Hobart in a C1 or better discretionary over 2090 metres.
His past two outings have been in standing start events at which he excels but he also has proven proficient in mobile starts.
The gelded son of Grinfromeartoear is a seven-year-old with 165 lifetime starts so he is more in the seasoned veteran category but he has found a new lease on life since joining the Yole stable.
Tonight he has drawn gate three and he possesses enough early gate speed to find the front. If that eventuates driver Tim Yole will be able to dictate terms and the gelding relishes the role of front-runner.
Yole also has Our Archangel and Givitaname engaged but they are minor place chances in this claiming event.
The Yole stable has been enjoying much success of late and Satisfied Grin is one of a few genuine winning chances on the 10-event card.
