ONE OF Tasmania’s leading trainer-drivers Scott Ford has been disqualified for three years.

Racing Services Tasmania Stewards concluded an inquiry into the elevated TCO2 readings produced from blood samples taken from the Ford-trained horse Boozy Rouge following the running of the “Sotas Pace Division Two” at the Tasmanian Pacing Club’s

meeting on Sunday 12 June 2011.

The TCO2 reading reported by Racing Analytical Services Ltd was returned above the permitted level of 36.0 mmol/L.

Ford was found guilty of a charge under AR 190 (1) which states, “A horse shall be presented for a race free of prohibited substances”.

Upon hearing submissions with regard to penalty and taking into account all factors,

stewards disqualified Ford for a period of 3 years commencing midnight 5 September 2011.

In accordance with the provisions of AR 195 Boozy Rouge was disqualified from

its respective race and the results are to be amended accordingly.

Boozy Rouge finished fifth in the field of 10 and finished 12 metres from the winner.
