LONGFORD trainer John Blacker took the honours at Spreyton today preparing a treble with one of his winners emerging as a potential star.
Sahara Girl (Georgie Catania) got the ball rolling for Blacker with an impressive win in a BM62 over 1150m and Magnasa secured him his treble when he powered home from well back to score impressively in a BM62 over 1650m.
But the most impressive of his three winners was three-year-old filly Seajamm that was having her first start since winning her maiden in Launceston in February.
With Georgie Catania in the saddle, Seajamm settled near the rear from a aide draw and the filly was still near last turning for home.
But once balanced at the top of the straight Seajamm unleashed a powerful sprint and despite trying to lay in over the last 150 metres she powered past Moneypenny and went on to easily defeat that mare with Debauche flashing home to grab third.
Listen to what trainer John Blacker had to say about Seajamm’s win.
