SISTARITA repaid her trainer Elesha Spillane the best way possible today with a win in a strong and keenly contested maiden over 1220 metres at The TOTE Racing Centre in Launceston.
The well-bred three-year-old filly made her debut on May 16 on her home track at Spreyton for a game third behind Leica Legend.
But today she had more luck go her way and she emerged triumphant in a blanket finish over the favourite Miss Amiamor and the luckless March Fire that was caught three-wide for almost the entire journey.
Sistarita is by Partner’s Choice from Raminea and is the mare’s first foal.
Spillane said the filly had been a handful early in her career and still has some traits that need to be ironed out.
