LAST season Campania trainer Rhonda Hall threw her three-year-old filly Skip To The Moon in at the deep end by racing her in most of the 3YO classics despite her being a maiden performer. But other than finishing last in the Tasmanian Oaks the daughter of Helike-Parterre was very competitive. But this season she has emerged as a force winning her past two impressively. After finishing a luckless sixth at her first start this preparation in mid August she scored an impressive win in a maiden over 1400m at Tattersall’s Park in Hobart on a heavy track. Last Sunday she delivered the same result only this time in a much stronger maiden-class one over 1400m and on a much former surface (dead 4). It was almost a mirror image of her previous effort, coming from well back and motoring home along the rail in the home straight to score full of running. Hall was delighted with the win and admitted she always believed the now four-year-old mare would pay her way and possibly become one of her stable stars.
