Spotlight on Lesser Light at Mowbray

13 / 08 / 2012 Article by: Editor

After the two big shots Bell Haven and Jethro blew their opponents away in the heats of State Distance Championship, in Hobart on Thursday, their full sister Li Li gets her chance to shine over 600m at Mowbray tonight in race four. From the Head Bound x Its A She Litter bred by Leigh Alexander at Devonport she is owned by Robyn Johnson and trained by her husband Gary. Wynburn Diamond from the Scott Bryan kennel at Wynyard looks the hardest to beat and Wedgie Mite trained at Ulverstone by Jo-Anne Ivory could run a cheeky race.

The other 600m race on the program is much harder to find the winner with Doc Berkshire trained at Richmond by Len Howard, To Be True (Susan Gittus) and Disney Bound (Robin Stocks) all very good chances.

The best bet on the card is Premier Portin in race two over 278m. Trained at Huonville by Gayelene Townsend he should relish the outside draw and won’t be at the huge odds he has been at recent starts. Camdale Luke (Anthony Bullock), Claire Delune (Noelene Garwood) and Jillaroo Belle (Brian Shipp) will all run bold races in this race.

The value runner is Crystal Ellie in race six. Trained at Moonah by Kevin McConnon she will run a big race at good odds from box one
