A HEAT of the Smithawards Hobart Pacing Cup is a feature on tonight’s 10-race harness racing card at Tattersall’s Park in Hobart.

Tasmania Cup winner Star Chamber is likely to start a warn favourite although his trainer-driver Nathan Ford must find a way to counteract a 20-metre handicap in the standing start event to be run over 2579 metres.

Star Chamber toyed with his rivals to win the $40,000 Tasmania Cup after enjoying a gun run on th back of the leaders.

Quality and proven performer in top grade Our Chain of Command will start off 30 metres while two-times Tasmania Cup winner Motu Crusader is the back marker off 40 metres.

The interesting runner is Whodeani that is resuming from an injury enforced lay-off with the Paul Ashwood-trained gelding making his first trip to the races since December 2013.

When last racing Whodeani strung together seven consecutive wins over two preparations and while being thrown onto the deep end his connections have ensured he goes into tonight’s first-up assignment fit enough to cope with a 2579-metre journey.
