CONSISTENT greyhound Star Chamber looks set to make it back-to-back wins when he steps out in the Cygnet Hotel “Top Pub” Invitation (race 7) over 461 metres at UBET Park Hobart tonight.

Star Chamber was impressive in winning last start at the same venue when victorious over Bulla Country and tonight’s assignment looks no harder.

The Ted Medhurst-trained dog has drawn box seven from which he should be ensured a clear passage to the top turn.

He has recorded a sub-26 seconds over the distance, clocking 25.91 in March this year.

Only Posh Fire (box 8) has recorded a quicker time (25.90) but his most recent form has been below par.

Smichols from the Keith Nichols kennel has drawn awkwardly in box five but he won wearing the blue vest at Devonport last week and would only need to show the same early speed to be a contender at the business end of proceedings tonight.

Elite Enfield could not have been more impressive in winning an invitation grade event over 515m in Launceston last Monday night and should he be in the same mood tonight the Graeme Barber-trained dog will be hard to beat.

Guthrie (2) and Maximum Carly loom as genuine pace chances.
