MELBOURNE Cup winner Dyna Double One heads a star studded line-up of interstate invaders to line up in heats of the UBET Hobart Thousand next Thursday night.
The Andrea Daly-trained dog will go into the heats fresh from winning the Group 1 Brisbane Cup last night.
Daily will be hoping Dyna Double One can emulate the feat of Dyna Tron that won the Thousand in 2011 two weeks after he emerged triumphant in the Melbourne Cup.
Hobart club officials were hoping his kennel mate and multiple Goup 1 winner Fernando Bale would make the trip south but connections have opted to keep him at home.
While Dyna Double One is the major drawcard of the event, the Jason Fletcher-trained Fantastic Spiral that finished a game third to Dyna Double One in the Brisbane Cup last night also will line up in the series.
Last year’s Thousand winner Above All will be back for another tilt and while he has had mixed form since suffering an injury he has a love affair with the Hobart track and that was evidenced in a solo trial last night in which he clocked a slick 25.85 with splits of 5.18 and 11.15.
In other solo trials by interstate invaders Big Ticket from the Steven Clarke kennel at Tooradin showed early speed to clock 25.91 with splits of 5.17 and 11.13 while Tasmanian -owned Bearville Azza that has been racing successfully in Victoria in the care of Rob Britton trialled well clocking 25.88 with splits of 5.20 and 11.19.
The interstate contenders are Dyna Double One, Fantastic Spiral, Above All, Bearville Azza, Big Ticket, Shanlyn Violet, Tobias Rumble, Urana Gold, Roo Dee, To The Galo’s, Amaro Bale, Unlawful Entry, Aces And Angels, Proven Kodiak, Shared Equity, Rivergum Drive and Over Limit.
