TALENTED two-year-old More Awesome has a couple of hurdles to overcome before he resumes racing at Tattersall’s Park in Hobart on Sunday.
More Awesome’s trainer accepted for the Fuji Xerox Printers 2YO handicap over 1100 metres but the handicapper lumbered the flashy chestnut gelding with 63 kilograms on what is expected to be slow going on the Derwent (inside grass) track.
Trainer Dean Wells has tried to offset the big weight by booking three-kilogram claiming apprentice Rhagan Cross for the ride but he also is concerned about the track conditions.
More Awesome won three of his seven starts before being spelled.
He won the SA Magic Millions 2YO Classis prior to finishing fourth in The Jansz (Listed) over at Morphetville in South Australia at the end of March behind star Tasmanian filly Triple Asset.
In Tasmania More Awesome won the Alfa Bowl and was placed in Listed Elwick Stakes and the $150,000 Gold Sovereign before heading to SA.
