In Brief
- Town Stranger chasing back-to-back victories.
- Blackpool Trip eyes a third consecutive win.
- Racing in Hobart on Thursday gets underway at 19:42.
Recent Grade 6 winner, Town Stranger, heads to Hobart on Thursday night, aiming for a second career victory against an evenly classed line-up in the Lids Fly At Ladbrokes Live Grade 6 event over 340 metres.
Dilston trainer Pat Ryan is preparing the Feral Franky – Splotched chaser who achieved his first career win a fortnight ago, defeating Black Jewfish by 5-1/4 lengths in 19.94 seconds coming from box 8 in the effort.
The red brindle runner takes up box 2 and a big chance of consecutive victories, demonstrating good box manners and with the inside draw, corporate bookmakers have installed him as the $2.10 favourite.
His opposition is placed out wider in box six, Cut The Cord, who was well-supported in his recent debut.
Ingrid Watkins prepares the son of Bernardo, who started from box seven in his debut run on 4 February, where he faced Pocket Talk, who proved too strong, drawing underneath the debutant and securing a winning break.
Facing a larger field this time, after competing against a smaller lineup, Cut The Cord will need to deal with the likes of Highgate Fennec in box 3, who exhibits high speed and maintains her line before crossing to the fence.
In-form chaser Blackpool Trip, trained by Tonie Czerkiewicz, is aiming to extend his winning streak to three victories. He will compete from box 4 in the Clarkie Tyres 3/4 event over 340 metres in the sixth race.
The Aston Rupee chaser has triumphed in three of his last four starts and is advancing through the ranks.
