TALENTED greyhound Demi Cali continued on her winning way in Hobart today with a convincing victory in a grade five event over 461 metres at Tattersall’s Park.
Demi Cali scored the biggest win of her career at her previous start when she outgunned a quality field to win the coveted Gold Collar final that delivered $5,000 to the winner and she did it as one of the outsiders of the field starting at $18.
However, today punters were more aware of her ability and sent her around a $2.90 chance but not favourite as that honor belonged to the Patrick Ryan-trained Rylee’s Rogue.
Demi Cali began well from box seven and had a margin on the field turning for home then extended her lead on straightening and went on to score by 2-1/2 lengths from Rylee’s Rogue with Silver Pierre 1-1/2 lengths away third.
Demi Cali covered the 461 metres in 26.44 with splits of 5.23 and 11.27.
Demi Cali ( St Pierre-Wongawilli Wala) is owned by Debbie Cannan who also bred the bitch and she is trainer by Ted Medhurst.
The meeting was held in Hobart today owing to the Devonport venue being utilised for the Devonport Show.
