WINKLEA ROSE made it back-to-back wins when she led virtually all the way to win a strong grade five event over 461 metres in Hobart last Thursday night.

The Patricia Howard-trained bitch went into the race on the back of an impressive six-length win in a grade five at Devonport but this latest effort was even more emphatic.

Crackerjack Dad began well from box one and had enough pace to hold out Winklea Rose that also began well from box eight and crossed down to settled second.

Turning for home Winklea Rose swept to the front and proceeded to put a huge space between herself and the rest of the field.

Winklea Rose hit the line seven lengths clear of Real Impact that edged out Trudels in a photo finish.

While the winner was impressive there also was a lot to like about the effort of the runner-up.

Real Impact missed the start by three lengths from box four and was a clear last half-way t the top turn.

The Nicole Howard-trained dog weaved his way through the field and in the home straight motored home along the rails to edge out Trudels that made her run at the same time.

Trudels also missed the start and she too was doing her best work at the business end of proceedings.
