SURF Osti gave Acton-based greyhound trainer Mark Sutcliffe one of his biggest wins when he took out the Middle Distance Championship over 600 metres at The TOTE Racing centre in Launceston tonight.

Surf Osti ($13.10) made the most of the inside box to lead to the first turn and he was never headed on his way to a comfortable win over Zultan ($15.60) with Cheetah Zorro ($3.40) a close-up third, just in advance of her kennel mate Side Com ($2.60) and race favourite.

It was a great training feat and a deserving win by the son of Surf Lorian that won a juvenile/graduation over 599m in Hobart earlier this month that was only his second career win.

He followed the Hobart win with a fourth in a grade five over 515m in Launceston before finishing in the same position in his Middle Distance Championship heat won by Cheetah Zorro when be5aten almost eight lengths.

Surf Osti has now won three of his 26 starts but he also has notched 10 minor placings with this latest win taking his stake earnings beyond $6000.
