In Brief

  • Two heats to be conducted.
  • Additional breeders payments on offer.
  • Three first-starters engaged for Lynden Nichols.

There are two heats of the Tasbred Bonus series to be run in Devonport on Tuesday with the first three placegetters in next week’s final to receive breeder’s payments on top of the prize money already on offer. The series is for Tasmanian bred greyhounds over two-years of age who are yet to win a race.

The first heat sees two first-starters from the Lynden Nichols kennel engaged and both dogs are part of the Aston Dee Bee – Onassis litter. Nichols trains Mr. Brutus and Blazer who are winning members of the family who possess strong run home ability.

They will be competing against the consistent Nitro Joe for Paul Hili who has placed at his past four race starts including a solid third on the track last week and Where’s Holly for Gaylene Townsend who appears well drawn in box two.

Heat two includes Evolution Girl who has started her career nicely with consistent efforts including a solid run of 26.28 on debut in Devonport a month ago. The final will consist of the first four placegetters from each heat and will be run on the Devonport track next week.

Many of the runners will be hoping to establish some improved form to enable them to compete in the Country Oaks and Derby heats that will be conducted following the Tasbred Maiden series on 18 May.
