Tasmania boasts Earlybird yearling sale

Yearling buyers will get their first opportunity this year to pick up a prospective star at the Tasmania Premier Yearling Sale to be held at the Inveresk Showground, Launceston next Saturday, January 8.

A total of 69 youngsters will go under the hammer of Davidson Cameron Board & Simmons’ auctioneer Graeme Board starting at 12 noon. The sale will be preceded by a yearling parade at 10am.

The auction comprises well-bred yearlings by leading sires such as Art Major, Bettor’s Delight, Village Jasper, Live Or Die, Modern Art, Artiscape, Courage Under Fire, Lis Mara, Pacific Fella, Life Sign and Blissfull Hall.

The Tasmanian-based stallions JR Mint, Topnotcher and Dieberspace are strongly represented.

All yearlings will be eligible for $10,000 Sales Classics for both sexes as two and three-year-olds and a one-off $2000 win bonus for their first win anywhere in Australia before reaching the age of four.
