THE chances of Tasmania winning both the National Sprint and National Distance Championship finals in Western Australia on Saturday night were enhanced when both of the state’s representatives drew the coveted inside box in their respective races.

Dominator Girl, that was a late replacement for Buckle Up Wes owing to him being injured, has a great record from box one and her drawing the inside alley had her trainer Paul Hili jumping for joy.

It would have made Buckle Up Wes’ trainer Ted Medhurst cringe a little as his kennel star would have begun from the same box had he not been injured and would most likely have started favourite.

Painted Dotty also is suited to box one and should be begin like she has at her recent starts she will make her presence felt at the business end of proceedings.

The Mick Stringer-trained bitch has been arcing in peal form of late over the 720-metre trip in Sydney and in Tasmania and will go into the race in great condition.

The National Distance Championship is race six with the National Sprint Championship scheduled as Race 8.
