TASMANIAN two-year-old pacer Boasson Hagen made the trip to Melbourne for the Breeders Crown Series worthwhile when he powered home to win the Breeders Crown 2YO Colts & Geldings Consolation over 2240 metres at Melton last night.
With ace reinsman Gavin Lang in the stable, Boasson Hagen settled last from is wide draw and Lang delivered the drive of the meeting to send the Christian Salter-trained youngster home along the rails to get up and defeat Pompidou and Hez The One comfortably.
Boasson Hagen (Art Major-Allsorosie) was unlucky not to make the final on Sunday in which he is the first emergency and if he gets a start will line up in gate two.
Boasson Hagen has won two and been placed three times from his six starts and looks set for a bright future.
