PREMIER trainers David and Scott Brunton could make a clean sweep of the almost the entire program at Tattersall’s Park in Hobart today.

The Bruntons have genuine winning chances in the first seven races but will miss the chance to possibly train the card, as they don’t have a runner in the last race of the day.

They saddle up two in the fist in Flying Verdict and first-starter Silandro in the 3YO Maiden Plate over 1100 metres.

Flying Verdict has had one start for a debut fifth to Sir Joey in a 2YO maiden on the Hobart circuit in March last year and he has since trialed for a third to Si Siempre that also is engaged in this race.

Silandro is making her debut and this well bred filly by Bianconi from former smart race mare Bianchi comes off an impressive trial win in Hobart on December 24.

Silandro, named after a small provincial town in Italy, is related to Galibier that is a multiple winner and Cervelo that had only two starts for two very impressive two-year-old wins in 2010.

Silandro could not have been more impressive in winning her trial. She sat outside of the leader and when the rider asked for an effort she forged clear and hade no trouble fending off opposition over the concluding stages.

The filly has drawn well in gate three and she has the services of top rider Brendon McCoull.

The Bruntons also will saddle up two in race two with ne arrival to the stable Eagle Flight likely to have enough of an edge on her rivals to break her maiden status.

The stable will rely on 3YO filly Perplexing (14) to give them victory in race three.

Perplexing comes off an eye-catching fourth in a maiden over 1100m in Hobart on December 21, coming from a long way back on the turn to just miss a place. She should appreciate stepping up to the 1400m.

Acacia Bloom will be hard to beat in race four and in the following race team Brunton will pins its hopes of another victory on Vigilante.

The Bruntons take a two-pronged attack into race six, a benchmark 78 over 1200m with last-start winner What Life Brinks and the highly promising Short Story likely to battle it out for favoritism.

Their 2012 Launceston Cup winner Prevailing will be hard to beat in the feature race, the Brighton Cup, over 2100 metres.
