TASMANIA’S wonder horse The Cleaner is tuned to the minute for his tilt at equine glory in today’s $3 million W. S. Cox Plate over 2040 metres at Moonee Valley.
The Cleaner has captured the imagination not only of all Tasmanians but thousands around the country and today he gets his chance to win the weight-for-age championship of Australasia.
Stewards were at Pine Lodge just outside of Melbourne to position security guards around the horse in his final hours before today’s assignment at 5.40 pm.
