ONE of the state’s most promising sprinters The Invincible One will face his biggest test at The TOTE Racing Centre at Mowbray tonight (Thursday).
The Glenn Stevenson-trained gelding will resume from a short spell to contest the Novas Architectural Open handicap over 1100 metres and comes up against reigning Newmarket Handicap winner Obstinado and a host of well-performed sprinters.
The Invincible One won three races in succession prior to taking a break and all were impressive.
The latest was on his home track at Devonport defeating Capone and Our Super in a benchmark 78 race over 1150m on the Tapeta synthetic surface.
Mr Fashion also faces his acid test with his hopes of securing a Newmarket start also hinging on the outcome.
Other quality sprinters Secuma, Turbo Qui and Blue Light also have the chance to stake their claim on a Newmarket berth.
Stevenson will also saddle up Master Blonde in a maiden over 1400m (race 1) and Kiwi Cat in race eight, the class one handicap over 1200m.
It will be Kiwi Cat’s first start in Tasmania.
