We head back to Carrick for their second meeting of the season for a good eight race card. We come off a great meeting at Tasmania cup day in where we saw local lad Josh Duggan win the States major race on Lets Elope. Then all patrons witnessed very emotional scenes on track afterwards. Barynya took out the other feature race on the card winning the George Johnson.

RACE 1 : 4:48pm LAFM/CHILLI PACE 2150m
This will be a good race to kick off the card. UNION FORCE (4) has been racing very well of late without much luck. He draws the middle of the field so if can settle handy will take plenty of holding out. METRO DIGBY (5) was very good last week after doing plenty of work in the run. He will find this much easier so will be a major player. SOO SPECIAL (6) is another that will find this easier so with any luck from the draw will be thereabouts. BERTILS DELIGHT (7) has been racing consistently and draws to get the run she likes so has a chance at odds. PALMISANO (9) has been a little disappointing of late but if he can recapture anywhere near his best can win. LAFORCE (1) and WESTERN DESTROYER (8) are next best.

RACE 2 : 5:20pm CRESSY TRANSPORT 1670m
This bring together a really good field of three year olds. HILLVIEW JAKE (9) is an outstanding type who resumed with a good and showed he is on his way to better races later in the season. He will push through then look to get around them and will either roll to the top or sit parked so should just win. SOHO SHANGHAI (11) is a very good type in his own right. He is drawn out the back as can do a few things wrong but he will be the danger with a good trip. SULTAN FELLA (8) was a dominant winner last week when strolled to the lead early then sprinted to fast for a good win but place looks best. POCKETS OF COURAGE (3) draws to advantage as may be first to the pegs so is a must for the exotics. KEN TWO STARS (2) , KVITOVA LEIS (5) , TAMBROS MILLY (6) , KARALTA STARDUST (7) and ALL STAR SAMMY (10) are all capable of running into a place at odds.

RACE 3 : 5:45pm LAUNCESTON BOBCAT HIRE STAKES DIVISION ONE 2150m
This is a very tough CO. YOUNG BRUISER (4) has been racing very well of late running to game seconds. He has showed plenty of gate speed so if can get across early will take running down. BAROOGA BUSTER (2) got into a war with at his latest start in where he sat parked. He draws inside him here so if he can hold him out it will go along way to winning here. CEMENTO RAPIDO (10) had no luck last time so will pay to forgive and go on previous form. He will be looking to get a cart into the race can go close. PAGEANTRY (6) is having his third run back so he should be ready to produce best so keep safe. NEVER UNACHIEVABLE (8) just forget he went round last time and go on his first start. He will get a good run through and can run a race at huge odds. BUSTED (3) , MARAVILLOSO (5) and MY MATE TYSON (7) are all capable of sneaking into a minor place at odds.

RACE 4 : 6:15pm LEIGH PLUNKETT MEMORIAL STAKES DIVISION ONE 2150m
This promises to be a very good race with numerous chances. MARTY FOR REAL (1) has been going great guns since being transferred to Billy Bates. He draws to lead and if can repeat his run from two starts ago will take no end of running down. KYLEASHA (5) was very impressive winning last week in a career best performance. She draws the middle of the field so will go forward early so will be in the finish. OLIVERS MATE (10) is racing in career best form and will pay to forget last start when had no luck. He draws out the back so will have to get into the race at some stage so will be a danger. ME MATE LES (2) is racing very well and draws to be handy so is a must for the exotics as is LITTLE JETHRO (8) who will be fitter for his first up run. MERSEY DELIGHT (11) is an improving type who was huge last start. He draws out the back so will be looking for a cart into the race and can figure if this happens. BAD BOY HUGHIE (4) is another racing well that has to be included. STINGOFASCORPION (6) is going for a hat trick of wins but place look’s best from the draw.

This is the feature of the night the Westbury Cup. HAPPY SCHNAPPS (2) is racing in career best form and draws to advantage here. He generally steps safely so if lobs on top he will take plenty of running down. PUNT ROAD DISCO (10) is an opportunist racing very well so with the right trip here will be in the finish. FIOKI (13) is a very handy type who has to give them 20m but if he can get into the race will take holding out. OUR SPUNKY MONKEY (9) is shooting for four straight wins. He goes back to the 10m mark so will be hoping for a good beginning and if he does will be a player. POKER STORM (7) and KARALTA DAZZLER (8) are both handy types who can win if the breaks come their way. JACCKA TOM (3) , THE BIG PARADE (4) and CHIEF DESTROYER (6) are next best.

This is the C5/C7. THE MAJORITY (1) is very well placed in this field and draws the pole so this is his race to lose. He will hold the lead and should dictate the race and win well. PHILTRA FELLA (8) is a very tough type who look’s the danger as long as he backs up from Devonport the night before. CISKEI (5) is always thereabouts in these races and should look to go forward early so is a must for the exotics. WESTERN KARAMEA (4) was spotted hitting the line very strongly when resuming so if gets the right trip can run into a place. MY GREEK MATE (3) and BLACK CENTURIAN (9) are next best.

RACE 7 : 7:47pm JEREMY ROCKLIFF PACE DIVISION TWO 2150m
This is a very average CO with no winning form of late. ALPINION (9) has been thereabouts in his three runs back. He gets into a very winnable race here so will take holding out. NOTE WORTHY LOMBO (3) has been ok at his last two and draws ok so if he can go forward early and find the breeze or the top will give a sight. PLAYSTATION KING (1) draws the pole here so can run a much improved race so will pay to keep safe at odds. PARWILL (2) is the huge query as if he bought his form of six months ago he would be winning this but he hasn’t done much in two runs back to date. BUMBLE DON (6) is a very tough type who will find this easier so if he can settle handy he also has a hope. BAROOZA (4) will find this easier than latest run when was kept very safe so will pay to do the same here. MAJORAMA (7) was next best.

This is the last of the night. FAITHFUL JET (9) was very impressive winning a harder race than this at his latest start. He will be looking to get into the race at some stage and if close enough will take holding out. ART EDITION (4) was a good winner here last start. He will look to push forward early so is sure to be thereabouts. DO IT FOR DAVE (3) has finally drawn a marble so expect him to be in the finish at good odds. RECKLESS ABANDON (8) was travelling well before being knocked down last week. This look’s easier on paper so has to be kept very safe. JUST STOPANDSTARE (6) and RAINBOW PHOENIX (10) are next best.
