We move back down to the south after a very successful Australian Drivers Championships held at Launceston. Grant Dixon was the overall winner with a Danielle Hill the runner up which was great to see her and Lauren Panella mix it with the boys.It was a great night and a huge crowd took up the opportunity to see most Australia’s finest drivers
RACE 1 : 5:59pm PETER PAN PACE 2090M
This is a very open race for the CO pacers. DEMONSTRATIVE (1) is a well bred type having his first local run and draws ideally. He will be hoping to kick up from the inside which from there will take plenty of running down. GOGGO GEE GEE (8) draws to follow him through so well get his chance despite resuming so has to be kept very safe. ERCOLE (4) is another resuming. He has been off the track for about 18 months so will pay to watch the market as did win two on the trot before a break. JOHN SNOW (2) had no luck in an easier race than this last start. He draws well so is a chance at good odds. FINN MAC KEE (9) should get a good run through early so can be dangerous. MARAVILLOSO (3) and the first starter HIT THE LIGHTS (7) are next best.

RACE 2 : 6:29pm MITCHEL FORD PACE 2090M
This is a C2/C3 in where there will be a short priced favourite go around. LICINIA (1) is shooting for four on the trot and from the ideal alley she will be able to hold the top and dictate the tempo and sprint home too well for her rivals. BOLTNMACH (8) draws to follow her through so looks the obvious quinella chance. The same can be said about BERTILS DELIGHT (9) who was driven last start for an impressive win. She will follow the pegs and has a great place chance. CARDINAL ART (10) will be fitter for his first run back so can run into a place at odds. STONER RAINBOW (4) , RUSTY RED COMET (6) and LU WAY LORD (7) are all capable of running into a minor placing.

RACE 3 : 6:59pm RYAN BACKHOUSE PACE DIVISION ONE 2090m
This is a very open race for the C1 pacers. IM FULL TILT (2) has been racing very well of late and draws to advantage. He will look to push forward and happens to find the top will take plenty of running down. THATSWHATSHESAID (6) was very brave last start in where she when ran the gate then got a sit and battled away well. She will look to get across and if does will take plenty of running down. KYLEASHA (10) is a very handy mare who just got nabbed on the line last week. She goes back to the second row here but that work to her advantage driven with a sit so has to be kept very safe. CHARLIE JAMES (1) and ODINS CALL GIRL (8) both draw to get cheap runs so have to kept very safe. I AM CAMELOT (11) is a handy type coming through the classes but draw is against here so place looks best. FRANKIE FALZONI (3) is next best.

RACE 4 : 7:30pm ROCKY BAD BOY PACE DIVISION TWO 2090M
This is the lowest points division of the C1 pacers. HAPPY SCHNAPPS (4) hasn’t had the best of luck in his recent runs. He draws much better here so should push forward and make his own luck so will be the hardest to beat. MARTYS FOR REAL (1) draws ideally here as should be able to hold up so if he gets a cheap run in front will take running down. TIZYALATOR (9) was well driven last start when got up at good odds. He goes back to the second row here but this no harder so has to be kept safe. ALTUGO FRANCO (3) and TERROR JONES (5) haven’t had the best of luck recently so if some came there way tonight they can run a race at odds. All other runners are capable of sneaking a minor place at huge odds with the right trips.

RACE 5 : 8:07pm MY SIR DUKE PACE 2090M
This is a stand discretionary over the short trip of 2090m. ALL I CAN BE (11) will find this easier than his latest run. He will have to ping away safely as from his 20m mark he will need the brakes to come his way but is the one to beat if they do. VANDE VELDE (3) is an underrated type who is resuming. He does begin safely so will settle handy if not in front so has to be kept very safe. CISKEI (4) is mister consistent who is always a chance in these races with the right trip so is a must include. RESURGENT SPIRIT (7) with a very good win in good time. He steps up to open grade here so he will need to begin safely so if he does will take holding out as he can do work in his races. JUKEBOX MUSIC (12) is the back marker off 30m so will need to get the right trip but can run into a place. THE MAJORITY (6) is a very handy type when at his best so will pay to watch the market. REMEMBER JOE (5) has been struggling of late but if he was able to spear to the lead he can give some cheek as he does grow a leg in front. RAJAH WEALTH (1) and SKY TOWER (10) are next best.

RACE 6 : 8:37 TOUGHEN UP PACE 2090M
This is a tricky C4/C5 affair in where there will a bit of speed on early. DAMITSAM (5) has been racing very well in tougher company of late. Justin Campbell is back on board so his sure to put him into the race and will take plenty of holding out. OUR MADDYS STAR (3) will be looking to get too the pegs first and if he does he will take plenty of catching. LE PREMIERE (1) was ok at his first run back in the State. He draws ideally here so will get every chance so will pay to keep safe. PHILTRA FELLA (4) had no luck last start and as long as he backs up from Burnie’s Friday night meeting he can run a race at odds. PALMISANO (2) , KARALTA DAZZLER (6) and BRAVO CHARLIE (7) are all capable of a boil over with the right trips here.
TOP PICK : DAMITSAM (5) looks a good gamble.
RACE 7 : 9:12pm MATILDA RAWLINGS PACE 2090M
This is a very tricky C1/C2. SOO SPECIAL (7) has been racing well of late but has drawn poorly. She may have to push forward from the wide draw so if is able to get in somewhere will give a good sight. LA FORCE (1) was good two runs back then a little disappointing last start when couldn’t really get into the race. So from the good draw she gets her chance to get back into the winners circle. PHAROAHS WRATH (3) will strip fitter for her first up run and from the handy draw is a good hope. SIGN OF ORO (8) gets a cheap run so is a must include for the exotics. ROBERT MOREAU (2) will pay to forgive his last start. He draws well and go on his previous form he has a knockout chance at odds. OUR SPUNKY MONKEY (4) and FAITHFUL JET (6) are next best.

RACE 8 : 9:36pm CASEY PACE 1609M
This is the last of the night in where we see the resumption of a smart filly. KVITOVA LEIS (6) created a huge impression in her brief career to date. She has trialled up well for her return so is sure to take plenty of beating despite having to may sit in the breeze. KARALTA STARDUST (3) has returned in good order and was a huge run last week after doing plenty of work in the run. She draws inside her major rival here so if she finds the top she will take plenty of running down. DAYS LIKE THIS (5) resumes here but is sure to be better for the run but can still run a place. MEI GEI (4) is a handy type resuming who can pull out a run every now and then so will pay to keep safe. PERFECT PAIGE (1) , PLATINUM BELLE (2) and THE SYSTEM BLACK (7) are all capable of running into a minor place with the right trip.
