This is the first of three heats of the prestigious Eric Reece Memorial. ZUMBA BROMAC (7) created a good impression in her first preparation. She resumes here the outside draw without a trial but is still going to take plenty of beating. THATSWHATSHESAID (10) is well placed here as has been racing in much stronger company. She gets a good run through so is sure to be a huge danger. PERFECT PAIGE (8) was good when resuming then slightly disappointing last start but will pay to give another chance as draws to get a good trip. JUST STOPANDSTARE (12) has built up plenty of frequent flyer points since coming over from the Shaky Isles. She has been set for this series and is sure to be a major player as id from the inform Ben Yole barn. DEMONSTRATIVE (3) was hitting the line well last start and draws to advantage here so has to be kept safe. CARDINAL FINN (1) and RUBY DAWN (9) are next best.
TOP PICK : ZUMBA BROMAC (7) will be the hardest to beat.

RACE 2 : 2:09pm MINI TROTTERS PACE DIVISION ONE 2090M
This is a very open C1 only with plenty of chances. KYLEASHA (3) is a very consistent mare who has drawn to advantage. She will push forward and hope to find the top which will give her a great winning chance. FOLLOWTHEWIND (5) is a handy mare resuming. She has trialled only fairly and has a tricky draw to overcome but at her best is sure to be in the finish. BAD BOY HUGHIE (12) was very impressive when resuming last start. He draws out the back so will be looking to get a cart into the race and can win if this eventuates. UNION FORCE (8) is racing very well so if can overcome the inside back row draw can win. ONE MANS PASS (10) is another that was impressive winning first up so has to be kept safe with the right trip. CARDINAL SPEC (6) is another handy type who resumes. He has drawn a touch wide so place look’s best. RECKLESS ABANDON (1) ,MARTYS FOR REAL (7) , I AM CAMELOT (9) and JOHN SNOW (11) are next best.

He has draws to trail through nicely and then will be put into the race so will take plenty of beating. IM FULL TILT (12) is low flying as are a few of Paul Ashwood horses at present. He draws out the back so will look to get into the race at some stage so will be a huge danger. OUR SPUNKY MONKEY (1) is shooting for a winning hat-trick but will find this much stronger but has to be kept safe from the draw. LAFORCE (3) was perfectly driven last time for a good win. RACE 4 : 3:19pm ERIC REECE MEMORIAL HEAT TWO 2090M
This is the second heat of the Eric Reece and a very tough one at that. YOUNG BRUISER (6) was very brave last when only got run down over the concluding stages. He will be hoping to find the top as that will be his best way of winning so is sure to be a player. FINN MAC KEE (7) is a handy type who can run off the arm really well so they may try and get across but in doing that he can over race, either way he will be in the finish. GANGNAM DANCER (2) has been a little disappointing of late but does draw to advantage here so can improve enough to win. NOTE WORTHY LOMBO (5) battled away very well after doing all the work at his latest run so can sneak a place at odds. ALPINION (11) and REALLY FIESTY (13) are next best.

RACE 5 : 3:54pm UBET GEORGE JOHNSON 2579M
This is the feature Mares race for the year the George Johnson. EL JAYS MAGIC (8) is by far and away the State’s best performed mare of late. She had her first real crack at open class last week in where she was slightly disappointing by her standards as she got the right trip but weakened over the concluding stages. The query about her is running a strong 2579m in which I think she can if she’s driven with a sit as she can sprint very quickly either way she will take plenty of beating. BARYNYA (10) is a proven performer on the big stage and will benefit greatly from her first up run in where she was good. She has drawn out the back so will need to be put into the race at some stage and look’s a big hope. SPITFIRE ROSE (6) won this race last year and there is no reason why she can’t go back to back. She has had no luck at past two starts so if she can get the right trip will be dangerous. Nathan Ford has four runners in the race with HIGHVIEW CHRISTINA (3) looking his best chance. She was brilliant winning a much easier last start leading throughout but that was over the mile so as long as she can run a strong 2579m she has a hope. LICINIA (5) is a speedy mare but if she can settle will be thereabouts. TESSANZO (7) is a very handy mare at her best but her last few have been just ok. She will be hoping to bring her a game here and if does can surprise.
TOP PICK : BARYNYA (10) was good first can improve enough here to be winning.

RACE 6 : 4:34pm SMITHAWARDS HOBART PACING CUP HEAT TWO 2579M
This is the second heat of the Smithawards Hobart Pacing Cup. KURAHAUPO GAMBLER (4) is a Victorian pacer from the inform Michael Stanley stable. He had no luck when resuming he was caught three wide for the majority of the event. He comes her into a winnable race as long as he step safely so will be a major contender. REMEMBER JOE (5) is slowly getting back to something like his best. He will be hoping to ping away and if found the top will take no end of running down. OUR CHAIN OF COMMAND (10) is an old veteran resuming. He comes off the back mark off 30m so will have to be somewhere near his best to be winning. JUKEBOX MUSIC (9) is a hard horse to follow as he can be real good then disappoint but if he brings his best here he will finishing strongly. Stablemates PHILTRA FELLA (6) and RAJAH WEALTH (8) are both racing well so have to be include for the exotics players.
TOP PICK : KURAHAUPO GAMBLER (4) with a safe beginning is the one to beat.

RACE 7 : 5:14pm TASMANIA CUP 2579M
This is the big one for the day and what a race it should be. The local champ STAR CHAMBER (13) sent out an ominous warning last week when won the feature race at Launceston beating a quality line up. His trainer driver just drives him perfectly and knows that he sprint can get him over the line on most occasions. He will settle at the rear and try and flush something at the bell and if his within striking distance he will take plenty of beating. LETS ELOPE (10) was very brave when running second last week after giving STAR CHAMBER (13) the cart into the race. He will be looking to get in front of him this time and get a margin on him and if does will be hard to run down and could give Josh Duggan the biggest win of his career. HILLTOP HUSTLER (8) is a very handy type from the Michael Stanley stable. He draws inside the back row so if a bit of luck comes his way he is sure to be savaging the line. GLENFERRIE HOOD (11) rounds out the interstate raiders. He has been racing in good quality races of late. He can do a bit of work in his races so if his at his best he will run a big race at odds. THE MAJORITY (5) has really stepped up of late so if he can overcome his tricky draw he has to be given an each way chance. CALL THE MARSHALL (1) hit the line very strongly last start in the above mentioned race so from the pole is a must include. ALL I CAN BE (2) , SOMETHING EYRE (3) and OUTBACK MACH (4) all had very good sectionals last week in a very slick last half. They draw much better here so if they get the trips then cause an upset at huge odds.
TOP PICK : STAR CHAMBER (13) just gets the nod in a great race.

RACE 8 : 5:52pm STINGAS PACE 2090M
This is a very strong C4/C5. WINGATUI DEW (2) will be looking for six on end here and from the perfect draw he should be winning. He draws to find the top so will look to dictate the race. FRANCO SHEFFIELD (11) was beaten as favourite last start. He has drawn out the back so will plenty of luck to come his way to knock of the favourite. ONEMORELAUGH (1) draws to get the gun run behind the likely leader so has a knockout chance. MAJOR CALLUM (7) just keeps stepping as was evident of his latest win when doing all the work in real quick time. He draws the top of the track so will look to go forward early as that’s where he races best so can’t be ruled out. SKY TOWER (3) is a grand campaigner who won well last week. He draws to be handy throughout so is a must for the exotics. PUNT ROAD DISCO (8) will be three pegs so can sneak through for a minor placing.
TOP PICK : WINGATUI DEW (2) should be winning.
