VICTORIAN apprentice Boris Thornton will wind up his apprenticeship loan arrangement with Spreyton trainer Adam Trinder on Friday but he will be back riding in Tasmania under a fly-in arrangement.
Thornton partnered the Trinder-trained Appasionata to victory at Spreyton yesterday after which he revealed his plan to return to Victoria and reside with his parents.
The 17-year-old has been a boon for Tasmanian racing, booting home 29 winners in the seven months he has been riding in the state.
He has rides at UBET Park Hobart on Sunday including last-start winner Sunday Cider from the Tammy Mollross stable.
